When the curtain goes up at Grieghallen in Bergen, everything must be perfect. The audience should be met by a sparkling clean venue, the catering should flow seamlessly, and no trace should remain from the day's earlier conference or dinner. In the middle of this complex machinery stands Ability — ensuring clean surfaces, quick turnarounds and calm behind the scenes.

The partnership between Ability and Grieghallen began in 2008, and has developed into one of the most complex and comprehensive agreements we have. Every day, our three permanent cleaners — together with 20–25 on-call substitutes during major events — keep Grieghallen's 25,000 square meters clean, prepared and ready.

Tasks include everything from daily cleaning and special assignments to full setup and teardown for courses, conferences, concerts, fairs and parties.

Grieghallen hosts many different events, often with many different parties involved simultaneously: musicians, catering, lighting and sound technicians, artists and presenters. This places extremely high demands on both coordination and flexibility.

A cleaning robot is a natural part of the team — contributing efficient and precise cleaning of large surfaces such as the entrance area, stage, Peer Gynt Hall and parking area. The interplay between people and technology plays a crucial role.

It is not uncommon for the team to work in the middle of the night to prepare the premises for the next day's activities. Everything is documented in monthly quality reports and coordinated through regular planning meetings with Grieghallen.
